There are quite a few dancers and dance makers in and around Ann Arbor. They are graduates of local colleges/universities, professionals who've relocated, etc. Many dancers, but not a lot of visibility. Where are they making & performing? Do they know each other?

Asking these questions reveals that dance in Ann Arbor happens largely in a decentralized collection of small studios, and it points to the absence of a central arts center - a place where classes and performances would regularly happen, as would regular networking and connection. It is challenging to get a sense of the local dance community. Things are happening; Work is being made... in various studios and spaces that people may or may not know about. This event aims to bring that to the fore.
 
Other goals of this event include: providing an invitation to show dances, ideas, and creations; building connections – between viewer and dance makers/ performers, and between the dancers themselves; and gathering people together for a collective art-focused experience. We are stronger and more visible when working together.
