CATHY & COMPANY

Cathy and Company is currently a collaboration between Cathy Taister and Malachi Lee. It is a dramatic modern dance group with a style that is artsy, yet accessible. The company is dedicated to both tradition theater and community engagement projects. We believe bringing art to
underserved communities is important.
 

Malachi Lee is an actor with an exuberant and adventurous personality and a desire to try new things. Mr. Lee has appeared in two films As Far by Breanna Films and Black Lives Matter: Now Act Like It by Royal Youth Group. Malachi has been in commercials for Dick’s Sporting Goods and Light Up the World.

Cathy Taister holds a BA in Dance from George Washington University in Washington DC and has
enjoyed a colorful dancing career. She has performed at the Kennedy Center’s open house and National Theater’s Community Vaudeville Program in Washington DC, Figment Festival in New York,
and Dancing with Arlington Stars in Virginia. Mrs. Taister also performed with Ajax Moving Company
and World Dance Focus in Maryland. Michigan credits include Emerald Theater, Majestic Theater, and The Arthur Miller Theater at U-M. Cathy created Topsy Turvy, a one woman show and for FringePVD.
 

The company has performed in Sidewalk Festival, Detroit Dance City Festival, Mother Matters', Performance Laboratory, and the Detroit Fringe Forward Festival, among others.
